for the first hour of tonight's blog.cast, i will be performing the first of three live improvised ambient sound works. these works will then be released in a limited edition cassette only series. the three movements will be released individually and packaged in a 7-1/8 x 4-5/8 x 9/16 clear plastic cassette album. included with each release is a 32 page, 6x9 full color perfect bound book with liner notes and art.work.

in may, i made a 9 day trip to europe to gather field recordings to use as the sonic backbone for each work in this series. live microphones will also be placed at various locations outside my studio windows, allowing the captured soundscapes to bleed live into the work.

the summer always brings me face to face with nostalgia. one of the fondest memories for me is the summer of 1987. i was re.discovering my.self and will always look at that year as a turning point in my life. this month's blog.cast may not appear to follow a specific theme or mood but in my mind it is in line with that spirit of re.discovery. what i've been listening to recently has actually been a grab.bag of old, new and re.discovered tracks.
